Kolkata: The West Bengal Electricity Department plans to set up a number of electrical sub-stations across the South 24 Parganas district, with many in the Sundarbans.
A new sub-station will come up at Chhoto Mollakhali in South 24 Parganas. A 33,000-volt electrical wire will go above the Bidyadhari and Gomo rivers. Electrical poles are being set up at many positions for this.
In thr first phase, the electrical wire will go from Rajapur to Kachukhali over the Gomo river. In thr second phase, the wire will go from Kachukhali to Boro Mollakhali over Bidyadhari.
A temporary sub-station has been set up in Dhosa in Joynagar to maintain a steady electrical supply. Another new sub-station will soon come up at Manirtat in Joynagar, for which a tender will be called.
All sub-stations in the district will.be 33/11Kv. Land for another sub-station has been procured near Debipur market in Moipith in Sundarbans, where there has been long long-standing electricity problem.
Sub-stations will also be set up in Jharkhali, Herobhanga in Canning, Moukhali, Nandakumarpur in Raidighi, Kumorhat in Baruipur, Hotuganj in Usthi and Sherpur in Magrahat.
