Kolkata: The West Bengal government has undertaken a major administrative reshuffle today involving transfers of 64 bureaucrats, including 10 District Magistrates.
Kolkata Municipal Commissioner Dhaval Jain has been appointed as DM of Birbhum. The South 24 Pargana DM Sumit Gupta has replaced Jain as KMC Municipal Commissioner.
Cooch Behar DM Arvind Kumar Meena has taken over as South 24 Pargana DM. He has been replaced as Cooch Behar DM by Manish Mishra, who was the Additional DM of North 24 Parganas.
Murshidabad DM Rajasree Mitra has been appointed as MD of HIDCO, replacing Shashank Shetty. She has been replaced as Murshidabad DM by Nitin Singhania, who was the Malda DM.
Darjeeling DM Preeti Goyal has been appointed as the Malda DM.
Basirhat Additional DM Akanksha Bhaskar has been appointed as DM of Jhargram. She replaces the incumbent Sunil Agarwal, who has been appointed as Special Secretary of the North Bengal Development Council.
Birbhum DM Bidhan Chandra Roy has been appointed Special Secretary of the Food & Civil Supplies Department.
Purba Medinipur DM Purnendu Maji has been appointed as Special Secretary of the Municipal and Urban Development Department.
U R Ismail has been appointed as Purba Medinipur DM from his current position as Special Secretary, Health Department.
Purulia DM Rajat Nanda has been appointed as Director, Tourism Department.
In addition, 10 officers of IAS rank have been transferred as Divisional Magistrates from their OSD positions.
Another 15 IAS officers have been appointed as Additional DMs, divisional Magistrates and Joint Secretaries.
Still, another 22 IAS officers have been shifted to districts as Additional DMs.
