New Delhi: The government on Monday announced that it has opened access to the PM GatiShakti portal for private sector entities to help optimise last-mile delivery services and develop infrastructure-based applications. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal launched the PM GatiShakti Public Portal through the Unified Geospatial Interface (UGI).
The new query-based web platform offers regulated access to selected non-sensitive datasets from the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan (NMP). It enables private companies, consultants, researchers and citizens to utilise advanced analytics for infrastructure planning, project development, and informed investment decisions.
Goyal described PM GatiShakti as “a vital bridge between macro-level planning and micro-level implementation,” underlining its role in driving integrated and efficient infrastructure growth since its launch in October 2021. The initiative aims to cut logistics costs and promote coordinated development across sectors.
Through the platform, users can access over 230 approved datasets covering physical and social infrastructure assets. It enables site suitability analysis, connectivity mapping, alignment planning, compliance checks and the generation of analytical reports. Users can also visualise multi-layered geospatial data to support better project design, inter-agency coordination and increased private sector participation.
By leveraging data layers such as railway tracks, freight corridors, highways, multimodal logistics parks, warehouses and airports, private entities can enhance last-mile connectivity, develop smart city solutions, and strengthen logistics management. The platform will also aid planning in key areas such as healthcare, agriculture, disaster management and food distribution.
The portal includes information on land records, ports, schools, telecom towers, forests, water bodies and roads. Alongside the portal, the minister released a PM GatiShakti Compendium showcasing successful use cases and best practices and launched the PMGS NMP Dashboard, a multi-sector reporting tool designed to monitor progress and generate actionable insights.
