New Delhi: The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has announced two key appointments. According to the official notification, senior IAS Vivek Aggarwal, belonging to the 1994 batch, has been given additional charge as the Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism.
Aggarwal, an officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre, currently serves as the Secretary in the Ministry of Culture. His additional role will continue until the joining of IAS Srivatsa Krishna or until further orders.
Aggarwal has previously served as Additional Secretary in the Department of Revenue and the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. He also held responsibilities in the Financial Intelligence Unit—India (FIU-IND).
Additionally, the DoPT has also announced the empanelment of IAS Manasi Sahay Thakur (2009 batch) for holding Joint Secretary or equivalent positions at the Centre. Thakur is a mechanical engineer from the College of Engineering, Pune, and currently serves as Director in the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs. She has also been posted as Labour Commissioner cum Director of Employment and Director of Tourism in Himachal Pradesh.
