New Delhi: The Sahyog portal run by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs has blocked 2312 links and accounts in one year.
From October 2024 to 2025, these 2312 links and accounts blocking notices have been sent to 19 online platforms, including WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram, among others.
This translates into an average of six blocking notices to links or accounts daily.
The maximum 78 per cent notices have been sent to Meta (for WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook).
A total of 1816 blocking notices have been sent to three platforms – WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram only.
WhatsApp got 1392 blocking notices, Facebook 255 and Instagram 169. In addition, YouTube got 176 notices and Telegram got 123.
Company-wise, Google received 93 blocking notices, Apple 43, Amazon 23, Microsoft 10, LinkedIn two and Snapchat one.
What is not certain, though, is that one notice can apply to the same link across different platforms. This was evident from some earlier numbers.
As per I4C, from March 2024 to 2025, they sent 426 notices to different organizations blocking 1.10 lakh links and accounts.
While last March onwards the average blocking notices were two daily, since the launch of the Sahyog portal, it has increased to six daily.
Maximum blocking notices were sent in and around the Sindoor mission in May. Maximum links or accounts supposedly originating from Pakistan were blocked at that time.
