Sharing the news of his appointment, Awhad said, “Public transport plays a vital role in the daily life of citizens and in shaping a sustainable, accessible, and efficient urban mobility system. PMPML has been serving the people of Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad for many years, and I feel privileged to be entrusted with the responsibility of leading this important organisation. I look forward to working closely with the dedicated team of officers, employees, and all stakeholders to further strengthen the public transport system, improve service quality, and enhance commuter convenience.”
