Amaravati, July 23 (APAC Media): Andhra Pradesh has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the UAE which seeks to establish a UAE Food Cluster in the state.
It is being built on an investment commitment made at the World Economic Forum in Davos earlier this year.
The Parties Behind the Deal
The MoU was signed between the Andhra Pradesh government and the United Arab Emirates.
During the proceedings, the UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism praised the state’s investor-friendly policies, calling it a positive step toward deeper economic ties between the two regions.
Scope of the Agreement
Under the MoU, UAE-based companies will be encouraged to invest in food processing, export-oriented manufacturing, and value-added agricultural products.Â
The initiative places particular focus on horticultural produce such as mangoes, bananas, and cocoa.
Alongside attracting investment, the agreement also aims to strengthen export infrastructure and improve Andhra Pradesh’s access to global markets.
First Project Takes Shape in Chittoor
Marking the first investment under this initiative, Dubai-based Floor Masters International will set up a food processing unit at Gangadhara Nellore in Chittoor district, giving the newly signed MoU its first tangible outcome on the ground.
Investment Size and Export Ambitions
The company plans to invest Rs 100 crore in the facility, which will manufacture food products meant primarily for export.Â
Floor Masters International intends to use Andhra Pradesh as its export base to reach nearly 25 countries, tapping into the state’s agricultural strength, port connectivity, and growing reputation as an export-friendly hub.
The MoU comes as part of Andhra Pradesh’s ongoing efforts to establish this food cluster in Andhra Pradesh. More investments under the UAE Food Cluster initiative are expected to follow in the coming months.
