Ranchi, July 27 (APAC Media): Jharkhand will become the first state in eastern India to offer government level training in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) and air hostess courses.
The initiative aims to create skilled aviation professionals and expand employment opportunities for youth.
The courses will be launched by the Jharkhand Flying Institute (JFI) during the state’s Foundation Day celebrations in November.
They will begin after approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
MoUs Signed for Training
The Jharkhand Flying Institute has signed separate agreements to run the programmes.
The AME course will be conducted with M/s Veneur, Delhi, while AISECT Limited, Bhopal, will manage the air hostess training programme.
Both courses will be offered at the institute’s campus in Dhanbad under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
Students Across Eastern India to Benefit
The state government said the initiative will benefit students from Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha and Chhattisgarh.
Candidates will no longer have to travel to other states for government-supported aviation training, reducing both travel and education costs.
AME Course
The Aircraft Maintenance Engineering programme will have 60 seats and a three year duration.
The total course fee is ₹6 lakh, payable in three annual instalments of ₹2 lakh each.
The programme aims to meet the rising demand for qualified aircraft maintenance engineers in India’s aviation sector.
Air Hostess Courses
The institute will offer two training programmes:
- Six-month Certificate Course – 60 seats, fee of ₹1,00,500
- One-year Diploma Course – 60 seats, fee of ₹1,55,500
The fee includes uniforms, grooming kits and swimming training.
Applications for the air hostess courses are open until July 30.
No Additional Financial Burden
The government said the AME programme will operate under the PPP model, with M/s Veneur responsible for implementation.
Officials said the arrangement will not place any additional financial burden on the state government or the Jharkhand Flying Institute.
Skill Development Push
Jharkhand Flying Institute Managing Director Captain S.P. Sinha said preparations have been completed following Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s directions to strengthen aviation skill development in the state.
He said the new programmes will create career opportunities for young people and help address the shortage of skilled aviation professionals in the country.
Aviation Sector Gets a Boost
The initiative is expected to strengthen aviation training in eastern India. It will expand access to government-supported aviation education in the region.
The new courses are expected to create more employment opportunities. They will also help prepare skilled professionals for India’s growing aviation sector.
