Ranchi, July 31 (APAC Media): The Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS), under the state Rural Development Department, has launched the Jharkhand Incubator Programme.
The initiative aims to strengthen women-led rural micro and nano-enterprises through incubation, mentorship and business support.Â
The three-year initiative, being implemented in partnership with IIM Calcutta Innovation Park (IIMCIP), aims to create a structured ecosystem to help rural entrepreneurs expand and formalise their businesses.
Comprehensive Support for Entrepreneurs
Under the programme, 150 women-led rural enterprises will receive end-to-end support, including enterprise selection, mentorship, business development, technical training, financial and market linkages, branding, quality certification, and assistance in business formalisation.
Rural Development Minister Deepika Pandey Singh said the partnership with IIMCIP would ensure sustained handholding support over the next three years, enabling women entrepreneurs to build competitive and sustainable enterprises.
Strengthening the Rural Enterprise Ecosystem
As part of the initiative, a central incubation hub will be established in Ranchi. At the same time, five regional spoke centres will be set up to provide entrepreneurship support at the district and block levels. Rural Development Secretary Manoj Kumar said the programme would offer a structured framework to help rural businesses scale up.
JSLPS currently supports more than 1.54 lakh rural enterprises with an estimated annual turnover exceeding Rs. 3,000 crore.
Digital Platforms and Technical Sessions
The event also marked the launch of the Jharkhand Incubator Programme portal, the incubator portal, and the Handloom Cluster web portal to improve digital access for women entrepreneurs, weavers, and other stakeholders.
Technical sessions on the inaugural day covered rural entrepreneurship, market access, branding, digitalization, and the application of artificial intelligence in women-led enterprises, highlighting the programme’s focus on innovation-driven rural economic growth.
