New Delhi, 17 August (APAC Media): Vinod Kumar D.V. has been appointed Chief of Media and Communications (CMC) for the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
He currently serves as the Director (Media and Communication) at the Press Information Bureau (PIB).
The appointment was approved by the Additional Secretary (Personnel), MeitY. The order was issued by P. Victor Albuquerque, Deputy Secretary (O&M), MeitY.
As CMC, Vinod Kumar will serve as the single point of contact for matters related to MeitY’s media engagements and dissemination of information through print, television, radio, digital media, and other platforms.
Under the new arrangement, all divisions of MeitY will be required to route their media plans for the ministry’s activities and initiatives, as well as responses to media queries, through the CMC.
The CMC will report directly to the Secretary, MeitY, and coordinate with the Additional Secretary, Joint Secretary, and Group Coordinator handling Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) matters.
