Ranchi, September 30 (APAC Media): Jharkhand is hosting a two-day Digital Health Conclave to strengthen the state’s digital healthcare ecosystem. The conclave will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Hemant Soren. The event has brought together healthcare professionals, technology experts, and institutions from India and abroad to explore technology solutions suited to the state’s healthcare needs.
Conclave to Focus on Digital Healthcare Solutions
Health Minister Irfan Ansari said the conclave is the first event of its scale to be organised in Jharkhand. Addressing reporters, he said the objective is not only to showcase emerging technologies but also to identify solutions that can be integrated into the state’s healthcare system.
Key Technologies to Be Discussed
The two-day event will feature discussions and demonstrations around several areas of digital healthcare, including:
- Robotic surgery
- Tele-ICU services
- Telemedicine
- Tele-radiology
- Artificial intelligence
- Digital health records
- Paperless hospitals
- Remote specialist consultations
Reputed institutions, medical professionals, technical experts, and specialists from the health sector from India and abroad are expected to showcase the latest technologies during the conclave.
Focus on Healthcare Access in Remote Areas
A key focus of the conclave will be the use of digital technologies to extend specialised healthcare services to remote parts of Jharkhand.
Ansari said the government is working towards using digital platforms to bridge gaps in access to specialist healthcare, particularly for people living in areas where advanced medical services may not be readily available.
10-Bed ICU to Be Inaugurated
As part of the event, Chief Minister Hemant Soren will also inaugurate a 10-bed ICU. The facility is expected to contribute to the state’s efforts to strengthen critical care infrastructure.
ACS Ajoy Kumar Singh Highlights Digital Health Records and AI-Assisted Care
Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Ajoy Kumar Singh said state hospitals are being equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity under the Chief Minister’s Digital Health Scheme, which is being used by both doctors and patients.
“Digital health records will be created for patients, securely storing their medical history. In the future, these records could be used for AI-based health assistance. The AI will only provide assistance and suggestions regarding potential health issues, but the patient’s prescription will be written by a doctor,” Singh informed.
The conclave is expected to further discussions on how technology can be adapted to Jharkhand’s healthcare requirements and support more accessible and connected healthcare delivery.
