Kota: The coaching capital of India, Kota, a tiny town in Rajasthan is once again brimming with students from across the country as they made their way to the small-town and settled into the numerous hostels that dot the city.
The Rajasthan Government had announced its decision to reopen schools, colleges and coaching centres on January 6, 2021 and by the third week of the month, the coaching centres were full of students. It is after 10 months that students are back in the city.
Classes have begun but students as well as the management are following several measures that include daily sanitation of the campus by the latter and it is mandatory for all students to wear a mask. Even the seating arrangement has changed, where two students would sit, now only one sits on a bench. Classes are functioning with 50 per cent strength with 30 –minute gap between classes.
An eight-page SOP is prominently stuck on the walls of the centres and the district administration makes sporadic visits to check if all the protocols are followed. Close to 11 teams from the district administration are making rounds. In a bid to keep the virus at bay, few centres installed ultra-violet lighting for sanitation in classrooms and kept ambulances ready in case students show and Covid symptoms.
