Mumbai: Here is some good news for students aspiring to go to foreign countries to pursue studies. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation announced Friday that those going abroad for studies would be given priority among the 18-44-year age group for Covid-19 vaccination.
The municipal corporation has set aside three days in the week (Monday to Wednesday) for their vaccination without pre-registration, at specified centres in Mumbai.
The news has spread like wild fire and student community has been reaping praise. Atul Munde, a student who has applied to a Canadian college for International Business degree said, “This has come as a huge relief. At the moment though there are no flights and I am planning to join the September intake. This gesture by the BMC is laudable, said the Santacruz East resident.
On an average close to 10 lakh students from various parts of the country visit foreign countries to pursue higher education. The most sought after countries include USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland.
