Raipur: Health Minister TS Singh Deo inaugurated free dialysis facility at Ambikapur and Jashpur. He inaugurated these centers in Ambikapur and through a virtual program in Jashpur. Under the National Free Dialysis Program under the National Health Mission, this facility named ‘Jeevan Dhara’ has been started.
Dedicating the dialysis facility in both the district headquarters, Health Minister Singh Deo said that patients suffering from kidney diseases have to undergo frequent dialysis for a long time. This places a huge financial burden on them. With the introduction of dialysis facility in Jashpur and Surguja, the patients will no longer have to travel long distances.
Chairman of Chhattisgarh Labor Welfare Board Shafi Ahmed, President of Chhattisgarh Forest Medicine Plant Board Balkrishna Pathak, Mayor of Ambikapur Municipal Corporation Dr Ajay Tirkey, District Panchayat Member and President of District Red Cross Society Adityaeshwar Sharan. Singhdeo, Dean of Ambikapur Medical College Dr R Murthy and Medical Superintendent Dr Lakhan Singh and several public representatives were also present.
Free dialysis facility is available in six districts namely Durg, Kanker, Korba, Bilaspur, Mahasamund and Bijapur. With the introduction of this facility in Jashpur and Surguja districts, the number of free dialysis centers in the state has gone up to eight. For dialysis, five units have been set up at Jashpur and three at Ambikapur.
A total of ten thousand 666 sessions have been conducted so far under the free dialysis program in six old dialysis centers of the state. Of these, 3205 sessions have been conducted in Durg district, 2276 in Kanker, 1066 in Korba, 1440 in Bilaspur, 1947 in Mahasamund and 732 in Bijapur.
