Dr KS Jawahar Reddy has taken over as the new Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh. Incumbent Sameer Sharma retired as CS and handed over the charge to Reddy. The 1990 batch IAS officer of the Andhra cadre took charge at the first block CS Chamber of the Amaravati Secretariat.
Jawahar Reddy is presently serving as the Chief Minister’s Special Principal Secretary. He will continue to work until 30 June 2024. Currently, he is in charge of all CMO affairs as the Chief Minister’s Special Principal Secretary.
His earlier positions included an executive officer of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, principal secretary to panchayat raj and rural development, collector and district magistrate of Srikakulam and East Godavari districts, principal health secretary, and principal secretary to panchayat raj and rural development. Jawahar Reddy was chosen to serve as the Chief Minister’s special chief secretary in February of this year.
Reddy thanked chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy for giving him this opportunity. “As CS, I would take the various development and welfare schemes of the government to the village level and lead the officials in implementing them,” he said.
