New Delhi: Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Ltd (TPEVCSL) has entered into a strategic partnership with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) to establish more than 500 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations nationwide.
The collaboration aims to build a vigorous intercity charging network, easing range anxiety for EV users traveling between cities, the company stated.
Under the MoU, Tata Power will install these charging points at IOCL’s retail outlets in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Pune, and Kochi. Additionally, the stations will be placed Mumbai-Pune Expressway, Salem-Kochi Highway, Guntur-Chennai Highway, and the Golden Quadrilateral.
Chargers can be located and booked through “Tata Power EZ Charge” and “IndianOil e-Charge” apps. IOCL envisions providing 10,000 EV charging stations by 2024.
Saumitra Shrivastava, Executive Director (Retail-N&E) at IOCL, stated that the company will convert retail outlets into complete energy solutions hubs.
Tata Power boasts more than 62,000 home chargers, 4,900 public and semi-public charging points, and 430 bus charging stations in over 420 cities across India.
