New Delhi: Senior IAS Giridhar Aramane , from the Andhra Pradesh cadre of the 1988 batch, has been given the additional charge to oversee the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, replacing Vijay Kumar Singh. The vacancy arose following Singh’s return to his parent cadre, where he assumed the role of Special Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister of Punjab.
Aramane, currently serving as the Secretary in the Department of Defence since November 2022, will now handle the additional responsibility of the Ex-Servicemen Welfare Department while continuing his existing duties.
A graduate of IIT Madras and Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, Aramane has previously served as the Collector of Chittoor and Khammam districts in Andhra Pradesh, Principal Secretary in the Urban Development Department, Managing Director of AP State Finance Corporation, and Secretary of the Finance Department.
