5 IAS officers given new positions in West Bengal, IAS Roshini Sen appointed Chairman & MD, WBIDC

Kolkata: The government of West Bengal recently gave new responsibilities to five IAS officers. Following are the names and the new and additional designations of the officers:

• IAS officer Sanjay Bansal (2004 batch), currently serving as the Secretary of the Department of Backward Classes Welfare, has been given additional charge of Secretary, Urban Development and Municipal Affairs (UD&MA) Department and Managing Director of West Bengal Housing & Infrastructure Development Corporation (WBHIDCO).
• IAS officer Khalid (1995 batch) has been appointed the Principal Secretary of Paschimanchal Unnayan Affairs department, replacing Bansal. He is currently serving as the Principal Secretary of the UD&MA department.
• IAS officer Roshini Sen (1993 batch) is to assume charge as the Chairman and Managing Director of WBIDC (West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation). She is currently posted as the Additional Chief Secretary of the Environment and Fisheries Department.
• IAS officer Neelam Meena (1998 batch) will serve as Principal Secretary of the Consumer Affairs department. She is currently serving as the Director of the Institute of Environmental Studies and Wetland Management.
• IAS officer Abhinav Chandra (2001 batch) is the new Director of the Institute of Environmental Studies and Wetland Management. He is currently serving as the OSD in the Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department.
