Varanasi:Â India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) of the Department of Posts (DoP) has developed a special accident protection insurance for those who cannot afford expensive premiums. The beneficiary will be insured for Rs. 10 lakh and Rs. 15 lakh, respectively, upon paying a premium of just Rs. 549 and Rs. 749 in a year.
In the Varanasi region, postmaster general Krishna Kumar Yadav stated, “Next year, the insurance will need to be renewed. It is required of all beneficiaries to have an IPPB account. On Thursday, the postal service will launch a special campaign in the districts of Varanasi, Bhadohi, Chandauli, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, and Ballia.
According to Yadav, individuals between the ages of 18 and 65 will receive this insurance coverage under an agreement between IPPB and Aditya Birla Health Insurance Group Personal Accident. Under this agreement, both types of insurance covers will provide a cover of Rs 10 and Rs 15 lakh, respectively, in case of accidental death, permanent or partial total disability, amputation, or paralysis.
Moreover, the insurer will pay for four mental health consultations, nutritional counselling, OPD claims, and IPD costs. Additionally, it will pay up to Rs 1 lakh for the education of two children, up to Rs 1,000 per day for ten days in the hospital, up to Rs 25,000 for transportation costs for a family residing in a different city, and in the event of a death.
