New Delhi: The Election Commission of India announced the results for 542 out of 543 Lok Sabha constituencies.The National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by BJP, achieved a majority by winning 293 seats in the Lok Sabha.
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) won 16 seats in Andhra Pradesh, and the Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) won 12 seats in Bihar, ensuring NDA’s win as the Bharatiya Janata Party, winning 240 seats, failed to secure the 272 seats required to form the government.
The INDIA bloc, formed through a coalition between Congress, the Samajwadi Party, Trinamool Congress and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, has won 232 seats. Congress won 99 seats, the SP won 37 seats, TMC secured 29 seats, and the DMK won 22 seats.
PM Modi, along with his Council of Ministers, has submitted his resignation, which will lead to the conclusion of the 17th Lok Sabha. President Droupadi Murmu has accepted his resignation and urged them to continue serving their posts until the formation of the new government.Â
