New Delhi: The Government has launched the National Apprenticeship and Training Scheme (NATS) 2.0 Portal. The initiative will expand the reach of apprenticeship opportunities among the youth. It will also help them bridge their skills gap. The portal will act as a platform to match candidates with relevant employers promptly.
The government aims for the NATS 2.0 Portal to be the one-stop solution for all apprenticeship-related activities. This includes candidate registration and application, advertisement of vacancies, contract creation, certification, as well as disbursal of stipends. The government will deliver its share of stipends to the apprentices through Direct Benefit Transfers (DBT) using the portal.
Union Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan launched the NATS 2.0 Portal during an event. The Ministry of Education with the help of AICTE and BoATs/BoPT has developed the portal to implement the scheme. The scheme is in line with the government’s agenda of skilling and employing youth and making them future-ready. The main beneficiaries of the scheme are young graduates, diploma holders, educational institutions, and industries.
