Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has approved the establishment of seven Centers of Excellence, which would operate as independent institutions and concentrate on various fields of advanced research and training. These will be manned by elite teachers, researchers, and students, and furnished with cutting-edge amenities.
With a tentative location of Calicut University, the Center of Excellence for Teaching, Learning, and Training will be dedicated to enhancing the quality of education via curriculum development, ongoing professional development for teachers, and the use of technology in pedagogy. It will also train teachers and students in leadership skills and carry out research to support policy-making in higher education.
The Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) will be hosting the Kerala Institute for Science, Technology, and Innovation. The institute will investigate cutting-edge scientific disciplines like energy engineering, robotics, big data analytics, systems biology, nanotechnology, sustainable fuels, waste management, and advanced materials. It seeks to promote international cooperation and make a major contribution to science.
