New Delhi: The Union government has appointed Kathikala Srinivasa as the Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (Housing Secretary of India). Srinivasa is an Indian Administrative Service Officer of the 1989 batch belonging to the Gujarat cadre. He last served as the Secretary of the Ministry of Minority Affairs.
Srinivasa has served in the Indian bureaucracy for more than three decades now. He has worked in various capacities including the Director of the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA). He was also posted as the Joint Secretary in the Department of Personnel and Training from May 2017 to August 2018. Prior to this, he served as the Principal Secretary to the Government in the Revenue Department of Gujarat.
Srinivasa has held various other designations in the government of Gujarat including Joint Managing Director of the Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam (SSNNL). He also headed the Parivartan Cell which was a Change and Innovation Management Unit in the Gujarat Chief Minister’s Office.
