New Delhi: In a strategic move to enhance tech collaboration between India and Malaysia, NASSCOM has signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the National Tech Association of Malaysia (PIKOM) and the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC). The signing took place during the state visit of Malaysian Prime Minister H.E. Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim to India.
The MoUs aim to foster long-term business engagement between the Indian tech industry and Malaysia’s digital ecosystem. The agreements focus on increasing awareness of the Malaysian tech landscape among Indian companies, facilitating bilateral trade, and providing market access support.
Key initiatives under the MoU with MDEC include:
- Joint promotional activities
- Knowledge sharing
- Talent development collaborations.
The partnership also seeks to simplify the process of market entry for Indian tech companies in Malaysia, particularly through support for work visa applications and easing policy barriers.
The MoU with PIKOM centers on mutual information exchange, event organization, and networking opportunities. This collaboration is designed to promote partnerships, research and development, and joint market strategies between Indian and Malaysian technology companies.
These MoUs are expected to significantly bolster technology trade and cooperation between the two nations, aligning with broader efforts to strengthen the digital economy in the Asia-Pacific region.
