New Delhi: To fight cyber crimes against women, NCW has teamed up with CyberPeace Foundation to launch the Digital Shakti Centre. The center was inaugurated by the Chairperson Rekha Sharma. Given the concerning surge in cyber crimes including identity theft, cyberstalking, and sexual exploitation this initiative is essential in enabling women to safely navigate the digital landscape.
The Centre is launched with the aim of:
- Creating awareness about cybercrimes against women
- Providing aid in technical support needed to register such complaints
- Empowering women and protecting them from cyber crimes
- Ensuring that timely solutions are provided
- Creating a safer online space for women all over India
The initiative is built on the NCW’s Digital Shakti Campaign that was launched in 2018. With the help of this campaign, millions of women have been reached and given the knowledge and resources necessary to protect their digital spaces. The center is planning to offer training facilities that are outfitted with the newest technology. Industry experts and cybersecurity experts offer professional advice bringing practical knowledge and understanding to each session.
