Mumbai: Carlyle, the global investment firm, has announced the appointment of Anuj Poddar as the Co-Head of its Global Private Equity (GPE) business in Asia. Poddar, previously the Managing Director and CEO of Bajaj Electricals, brings over two decades of leadership experience to the role. His appointment reflects Carlyle’s strategic intent to bolster its investment focus and expand its footprint in the fast-evolving Asian markets.
As Co-Head of GPE Asia, Poddar will oversee Carlyle’s regional private equity operations, working closely with Carlyle’s leadership team to identify growth-oriented investment opportunities. His responsibilities will include shaping the firm’s investment strategy across sectors, managing portfolio companies, and driving value creation for stakeholders. Carlyle, which has invested over $30 billion in private equity deals across Asia, is keen to leverage Poddar’s experience in navigating corporate leadership and capitalizing on growth opportunities.
During his tenure at Bajaj Electricals, Poddar led the company through key strategic transformations, enhancing operational efficiency and driving revenue growth.
