New Delhi: The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) has recommended the name of Ashok Chandra for the post of Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Punjab National Bank. He is currently serving as the Executive Director at Canara Bank.
Chandra started his career in banking in September 1991 as a probationary officer at the erstwhile Corporation Bank. During his career, he has led key banking operations in significant zones, including Varanasi and Delhi. His tenure at Canara Bank also allowed him to lead global operations, including his time at the bank’s representative office in Dubai, UAE.
FSIB, in an official statement, said that Chandra had been selected for the post based on his performance during the interview conducted and his vast experience. Chandra will take over on his new role after getting the requisite approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
