Noida, Apr 27 (APAC Media): The Government of India has reiterated its commitment to ensuring uninterrupted supply of petroleum products and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) across the country, according to official sources.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas stated that coordinated efforts by oil marketing companies are ensuring stable fuel availability despite global uncertainties.
“There is no disruption in the supply of LPG anywhere in the country, and all distribution networks are functioning smoothly,” an official statement from the ministry said.
The government further informed that LPG booking systems have become highly efficient, with the majority of bookings processed through digital platforms and timely deliveries ensured through OTP-based verification systems.
“As you know, due to the West Asia crisis, our energy imports have been affected. However, the Government of India has ensured that domestic LPG and PNG consumers, as well as CNG transport, are fully protected and supplies are being maintained. In addition, the allocation of commercial LPG has been increased by up to 70 per cent. There is still some panic buying being seen at several LPG distributorships. Through you, I would like to inform everyone that we have an adequate LPG supply, and there is no dry-out at any distributor,” Sujata Sharma, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, said.
Officials added that refineries across the country are operating at optimal capacity with adequate crude oil inventories maintained to meet domestic demand for petrol and diesel.
The ministry also highlighted expansion of piped natural gas (PNG) networks with new connections being added across urban and semi-urban regions, reducing dependency on bottled LPG.
“We are continuously strengthening supply chains and monitoring systems to ensure energy security for all consumers across India,” the ministry said in its statement.
It further said inter-ministerial coordination is being maintained to address any global supply disruptions and ensure uninterrupted availability of petroleum products nationwide.
The government emphasised that India’s energy security remains stable due to strong domestic infrastructure and strategic planning by public sector undertakings involved in fuel distribution.
It noted that continuous monitoring of supply chains along with adequate stock levels at refineries and depots has helped maintain price stability and availability for consumers across both rural and urban areas.
The ministry assured that emergency response mechanisms are in place to quickly address any unforeseen supply disruptions while maintaining coordination with state agencies and oil companies to ensure seamless fuel distribution across the country without interruption.
Overall, officials reiterated commitment to ensuring uninterrupted energy access for households and industries across India at all times.
