Mumbai: Noel Tata, Ratan Tata’s half-brother, has been appointed as the new Chairman of Tata Trusts. The decision was made during a board meeting of the Sir Ratan Tata Trust and the Dorabji Tata Trust.
Noel Tata joined the Tata group in the early 2000s and has since been a key figure in the group’s growth. He is currently the Vice Chairman of the Tata Steel and watch company- Titan. He has also previously served as the Managing Director (MD) of Tata International Ltd, the group’s trading and distribution arm. Under his leadership from 2010 to 2021, the company experienced a growth in turnover from $500 million to $3 billion. In addition, he also held the role of MD of Trent Ltd, the retail arm of the group, wherein he led the expansion of retail stores across various formats.
Noel completed his education at Sussex University in the UK and also pursued an International Executive Program (IEP) at INSEAD.
