Mumbai: Tata Power and Singapore-based Keppel have joined forces to launch Cooling-as-a-Service (CaaS) solutions in India, aiming to provide energy-efficient cooling for high-demand areas like airports, IT parks, and data centers. This initiative, aligned with India’s Cooling Action Plan, is designed to offer cooling solutions that cut energy use by up to 40% and reduce carbon emissions by 50%.
The collaboration will focus on installing District Cooling Systems (DCS), which centralize cooling for clusters of buildings, cutting down the need for individual systems and lowering costs. Tata Power will use its energy expertise and infrastructure across India, while Keppel brings experience in operating CaaS across Asia.
In addition to cooling, Tata Power will look to integrate renewable energy options, including solar and wind power, as well as energy management services. This partnership aims to address the cooling needs of India’s rapidly urbanizing areas while promoting sustainability.
