Solar PV module manufacturer Saatvik Green Energy has partnered with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd. (MSEDCL) to supply solar-powered submersible pumps at 250 sites across Maharashtra, the company said. The pumps, with capacities ranging from 3 HP to 7.5HP, will be deployed to enhance water access for irrigation, drinking water supply, livestock watering, and pond management.
The solar pumps, built with stainless steel and equipped with high-efficiency motors and controllers, are certified by NABL-accredited labs for quality and performance. Powered entirely by solar energy, the pumps aim to support uninterrupted irrigation in areas with limited access to electricity.
Saatvik Green Energy CEO Prashant Mathur said, “Saatvik is pleased to collaborate with MSEDCL to advance Maharashtra’s solar agenda. We aim to empower farmers with sustainable irrigation solutions that reduce reliance on diesel and grid electricity.”
Saatvik has been supplying solar PV modules across Maharashtra to major developers, government entities, and commercial clients, including companies like Megha Engineering, Mahagenco, Oswal Pumps, and BHEL. Recently, the company secured a ₹302 crore contract with Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (MAHAGENCO) to supply 200 MW of its N-TOPCon 580Wp modules at various locations in the state.
With a target of 17.4 GW of solar capacity by 2025, Maharashtra has focused on expanding solar installations, rooftop solutions, and agricultural initiatives like PM-KUSUM and the Surya Scheme. Solar pumps have proven effective in Maharashtra’s drought-prone areas, easing the demand on the electricity grid and providing consistent water access for farmers.
