New Delhi: The Union Government has appointed R Menaka as the Deputy Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat. She is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Officer of the 2011 batch belonging to the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre.
R Menaka is currently serving as the Deputy Secretary in the Department of Commerce. Throughout her career, R Menaka has handled several key responsibilities. In Delhi’s government, she served as the Special Secretary for Finance and also as Deputy Commissioner (North) in the Revenue Department, with an additional charge as Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters). Her extensive experience spans financial governance, revenue administration, and commerce, highlighting her diverse capabilities and adaptability in handling complex administrative tasks.
As per an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the Civil Services Board’s recommendation for her lateral shift to the Cabinet Secretariat for the remaining period of her four-year central deputation tenure, up to June 27th, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
This appointment is part of the government’s effort to leverage experienced IAS officers in pivotal roles to enhance efficiency and governance across various departments.
