New Delhi: The Delhi government will conduct the Parakh Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024 on December 4 in selected schools, involving students from Classes 3, 6, and 9. The survey, aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, aims to evaluate the state of education across India through district-level analysis.
According to the Directorate of Education (DoE), the survey will be carried out in a range of schools, including government, government-aided, Central, and private institutions. Specific instructions have been issued to ensure a smooth implementation of the nationwide initiative.
Schools selected for the survey must remain open on the designated date, with no other activities scheduled. Evening schools in the sample must ensure the attendance of students, teachers, and school heads during the morning shift. Teachers responsible for the sampled students are required to complete a questionnaire, while school heads must provide inputs through a separate form.
To facilitate the process, schools must allocate a well-lit and ventilated room with seating for 30 students, adequate sanitation, and access to drinking water. Observers and field investigators will arrive before the morning assembly to oversee the proceedings. Attendance registers, OMR sheets, and question booklets will be part of the survey process, and all materials will be returned to officials upon completion.
For students with special needs, accommodations such as extended time and scribes will be provided as required. These measures ensure inclusivity and adherence to NEP 2020’s guidelines.
The survey will focus on assessing educational progress rather than ranking schools or comparing their performance. This distinction underscores its purpose as a research-driven initiative rather than a competitive evaluation.
The Parakh Rashtriya Sarvekshan serves as an essential tool to understand the effectiveness of educational reforms under the NEP 2020, with findings aimed at guiding future policies.
