Pune: KPMG in India, in collaboration with eVidyaloka, hosted a program to promote cyber awareness among students in rural government schools. Through this initiative, both parties aimed to address the pressing need for digital literacy and safe online practices in rural communities.
This partnership was a part of KPMG’s Corporate Citizenship initiatives. The program leveraged KPMG’s expertise in cybersecurity to create a sustainable impact by educating the youth in rural areas about cyber threats, safe browsing habits, and the responsible use of technology.
Beneficiaries of the Program
The sessions were conducted by 131 KPMG in India employees through eVidyaloka’s digital classroom platform. It lasted for a month and focused on students in classes 7, 8, and 9, in more than 300 schools across 12 states, including Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Assam. The program aimed at cultivating a foundation for safe and responsible online behavior, especially as internet penetration continues to rise in rural areas.
Customized Learning Modules for Holistic Understanding
The initiative was designed to simplify complex cybersecurity concepts for young learners. Interactive and relatable learning modules were curated for students, ensuring they could easily grasp and apply the concepts in their daily lives. The collaboration focused on enhancing awareness about the dangers of cyber fraud, phishing attacks, and online privacy issues. It also emphasized the importance of digital hygiene to help students navigate the digital world confidently.

eVidyaloka’s involvement underscores its ongoing efforts to bring quality education to underprivileged students. The organization’s integration of this program into its existing digital classrooms ensured seamless delivery of the content to make cybersecurity education accessible to remote areas.
