Bengaluru: Amazon India has partnered with the Uttar Pradesh government’s ARGA initiative to support women entrepreneurs in Gonda through its Saheli programme. The collaboration aims to help small businesses access digital tools and e-commerce opportunities, enabling them to sell products online and expand their reach.
Amazon’s Role in Women-Led Businesses
Under the agreement, Amazon India will provide training to women entrepreneurs associated with Brand ARGA. The training will cover:
-
Digital marketing strategies to improve online visibility.
-
Optimizing product listings for better sales.
-
Advertising techniques to reach a wider audience.
-
Using data analytics to understand market trends.
This initiative is expected to strengthen rural entrepreneurship by addressing key challenges such as packaging and marketing.
Launch at World Wetlands Day Event
The partnership was announced during the World Wetlands Day celebration at Parvati Arga Bird Sanctuary in Gonda. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Minister of State for Environment Kirti Vardhan Singh attended the event, emphasizing the role of digital platforms in supporting self-help groups (SHGs) and small businesses.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the importance of e-commerce in boosting rural businesses, noting that improved packaging and digital marketing could help these enterprises scale up.
By entering Amazon’s marketplace, these businesses can access a larger customer base across India and beyond. The move aligns with broader efforts to promote digital inclusion and economic self-reliance among women entrepreneurs in rural areas.
The collaboration reflects Amazon India’s ongoing strategy to support small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) while also integrating local products into mainstream e-commerce channels.
