Mumbai: Snap Inc., the parent company of Snapchat, has appointed Ajit Mohan as its new Chief Business Officer. In his expanded role, Ajit will oversee Snap’s global advertising operations, focusing on strengthening revenue-generation strategies and enhancing market reach.
Ajit initially joined Snap in November 2022 as President for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, where he played a key role in driving regional growth. Under his leadership, Snap saw significant traction in India, surpassing 200 million monthly active users. His promotion is part of Snap’s strategic leadership restructuring, which includes dedicated executive roles for the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and APAC.
Prior to joining Snap, Ajit served as Vice President and Managing Director of Meta India, where he was instrumental in scaling Meta’s digital business in the country. Before that, he was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hotstar, helping establish the platform as a major player in India’s video streaming market. His career also includes leadership roles at Star India’s television division and consulting firms McKinsey & Company and Arthur D. Little.
With his extensive experience in digital business strategy and revenue scaling, Ajit is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening Snap’s advertising ecosystem, fostering industry partnerships, and driving innovation in global markets.
