In a rapidly evolving job market, organizations that prioritize structured career development and upskilling for employees are emerging as clear winners in talent retention, according to a recent survey by AI-powered Learning Experience Platform Courseplay, the Learning Technology division of CIEL HR Group.
The study, titled “Key Drivers of Employee Development and Longevity,” highlights a strong correlation between career growth initiatives and employee commitment. The findings reveal that 49% of senior executives consider career growth initiatives as the most critical factor in their long-term association with an employer, while 52% of entry-level employees prefer continuous upskilling as the key to staying engaged and loyal to an organization.
The survey finds that 60% of mid-level employees spanning various industries, company sizes, and geographies emphasized that new responsibilities, specialized training, and career progression as essential factors in their retention.
Additionally, 38% of employees in small enterprises and 36% in mid-sized companies identify ongoing learning opportunities as the biggest driver for staying with their employers, demonstrating the increasing importance of professional growth in today’s dynamic business landscape.
