Itanagar: In a significant move to strengthen healthcare access in remote areas of Arunachal Pradesh, state-run SJVN Limited has partnered with Piramal Swasthya Management and Research Institute (PSMRI) to introduce mobile medical units (MMUs) in the region. The agreement was signed in the presence of SJVN Foundation Chairman Ajay Kumar Sharma, according to an official statement.
SJVN Limited, a joint venture between the Centre and the Himachal Pradesh government, will implement this initiative through its CSR wing, the SJVN Foundation. Speaking at the event, Sharma emphasized that the project would play a transformative role in ensuring quality healthcare services in underserved areas of the northeastern state.
The MMUs, expected to be operational in the coming months, will offer essential primary healthcare services, including free medical consultations, diagnostic tests, medicines, and emergency care. Equipped with modern medical facilities, these units aim to bridge critical healthcare gaps in regions lacking adequate infrastructure.
The initiative aligns with the government’s broader goal of improving healthcare accessibility in remote and tribal areas. Officials expressed confidence that the collaboration between SJVN and PSMRI would bring significant relief to communities with limited medical resources.
