Agartala: The Tripura government has transferred 18 senior police officers, including three DIGPs, four SPs, and two IPS probationers, in a major administrative reshuffle. The move aims to strengthen law enforcement and improve operational efficiency across the state.
Key Changes in Leadership
Among the major transfers, 2007-batch IPS officer Avula Ramesh Reddy, previously DIGP (HQrs), has been appointed as IGP (Crime). His new role involves overseeing criminal investigations and law enforcement operations.
In another significant change, M Raja Murugan, currently ADGP (Training), will now also handle the additional charge of IG (Admin), expanding his role in managing police administration.
Reshuffling of Senior Officers
Ipper Manchak, the DIGP (SR & NR), has been reassigned as in-charge IGP (L/O) with an additional role as DIGP Southern Range, placing him in charge of law enforcement in southern Tripura.
Krishnendu Chakravertty, the DIGP (Crime, Intl., & Security), has been given the additional charge of SP (SB) while being relieved of his previous responsibility as SP Vigilance.
Former DIGP Prabir Majumder has been transferred to DIGP Headquarters, where he will oversee police operations in Agartala.
Meanwhile, Rati Ranjan Debnath has been appointed as DIGP (Northern Range), focusing on security in the northern districts.
Changes at District and Specialized Levels
Several district and specialized roles have also been reassigned:
Bijoy Debbarma, former SP Procurement, is now SP Sepahijala.
Manik Das has moved from SP Traffic to SP Procurement.
Sudambika R., previously Addl. SP Traffic, has been promoted to SP Traffic.
Bhanupada Chakraborty, former SP (PHQ), is now Commandant, TSR 1st Bn.
Ashok Kumar Sinha, previously SP South, is now Commandant, 12th-Bn TSR.
Ranaditya Das, former Commandant of 12th-Bn TSR, has been transferred to SP Khowai.
Bikas Deb, Addl. SP Vigilance, has been promoted to SP Vigilance.
IPS Probationers Get Key Roles
The reshuffle also assigned IPS probationers D. Kudiarasu and Rishabh as SDPO Khowai and SDPO Belonia, respectively, allowing them to gain hands-on experience in district-level law enforcement.
The changes come as part of the state government’s efforts to streamline police administration and improve law enforcement efficiency.
