New Delhi: The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has announced two key appointments under the Central Staffing Scheme in the Department of School Education & Literacy, Delhi. One of the appointments is of IAS Bhagwati Prasad Kalal (2011 batch), belonging to the Rajasthan cadre, who has been appointed Director in the department.
IAS Bhagwati Prasad Kalal‘s tenure will span five years from the date of assuming charge or until further orders, whichever comes first.Â
Additionally, IPS Shalini Agnihotri (2012 batch) from the Himachal Pradesh cadre has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the same department. She has been recommended for the post by the Ministry of Home Affairs, and her tenure is for four years under the Central Staffing Scheme, effective from the date she takes charge.
IPS Agnihotri is widely recognised for her leadership and administrative acumen. Her experience in security and management is expected to strengthen the department’s capabilities in school governance, policy implementation, and institutional reforms.
Both appointments signal a strategic push to enhance the governance of the Department of School Education & Literacy. The presence of officers with diverse administrative and field experience is likely to enhance the department’s effectiveness in addressing complex challenges within Delhi’s education system.
