Chandigarh: In a minor bureaucratic reshuffle, the government of Punjab has announced the transfers of four Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers. As per the official notification, senior IAS Bhawna Garg (1999 batch) has been appointed as the Principal Secretary, Jails.
She replaces IAS officer Jaspreet Talwar, who was holding the position as an additional charge. This move is aimed at streamlining responsibilities and improving administrative efficiency within the department.
Other notable transfers and additional charges include:
- IAS Senu Duggal (2012 batch): Currently Managing Director (MD) of Sugarfed, has been given additional charge as MD, Punjab Financial Corporation, under the Industries & Commerce Department.
- IAS Ravinder Singh (2017 batch): Assigned additional responsibility as Additional Secretary, Social Justice, Empowerment & Minorities, in addition to his current role in the Labour Department.
- IAS Navjot Kaur (2018 batch): Will continue as Additional Secretary, Personnel, and take on the additional role of Director, Colonisation.
These administrative changes aim to optimise resource allocation and enhance governance delivery in the state.Â
