New Delhi: VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EV charging infrastructure provider Statiq to expand access to charging stations for its electric trucks and buses.
The agreement covers over 8,000 charging points across India, targeting better support for users of Eicher and Volvo’s electric commercial vehicles, including the recently launched Eicher Pro X range.
Under the agreement, Statiq will become one of VECV’s preferred partners for the supply and installation of both AC and DC chargers. The collaboration also extends beyond hardware, aiming to integrate Statiq’s digital platform with VECV’s “My Eicher” app. This integration is designed to provide electric vehicle users with real-time visibility of charging stations, route navigation assistance, and clear tariff information.
The charging platform will also highlight key hubs with sufficient parking and infrastructure, helping fleet operators plan more efficiently. Statiq will provide promotional rates and preferential charging tariffs for Eicher vehicle operators, though details on rate differences were not disclosed.
As part of the MoU, Statiq and VECV will also co-develop a shared support system, including customer service access, ticket resolution, on-ground troubleshooting and scheduled maintenance. A dedicated Point of Contact (PoC) model will be implemented to streamline communication and issue resolution between operators and service providers.
The companies plan to roll out turnkey solutions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of charging stations. The scope also includes shared infrastructure models, mobile charging options, and a revenue-sharing arrangement with select channel partners.
