Chandigarh: In yet another bureaucratic reshuffle, the Haryana government has assigned additional charges to two senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers. As per the official notification, IAS Vijendra Kumar (1995 batch) has been appointed as the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of the Public Works Department (Buildings & Roads) and Architecture. He has been given this responsibility in addition to his current roles as the ACS of the Youth Empowerment & Entrepreneurship Department, Haryana Sainik & Ardh Sainik Welfare Department, Haryana (Appointments) Personnel Department, and Officer on Special Duty (OSD) for the proposed Haryana Income Enhancement Board.
Besides Kumar, IAS Mohammad Shayin (2002 batch) has been given additional charge as the Commissioner and Secretary of the Irrigation and Water Resources Department. Along with this, he will also oversee the Water Resources portfolio. Shayin is currently serving as the Commissioner & Secretary of the Haryana Housing for All Department and the Public Health Engineering Department.
This reshuffle aims to improve the administrative efficiency across some key departments of the state.
