Kolkata: The West Bengal Higher Education Department is deploying an AI chatbot called Bina in the central admission portal for colleges.
This chatbot will be associated with the central portal for admission and will answer all queries of students related to admission.
The chatbot has been named Bina after the Goddess Saraswati’s musical instrument.
Designed to handle basic queries, Bina will assist applicants alongside a helpline (1800-102-8014) and an email-based grievance redressal system.
Students can start applying on this portal from today onwards. While the AI-driven Bina chatbot will give most answers, students have to email the Council in case of any additional queries.
The centralised admission portal for undergraduate admission will cater to 7229 courses across 460 government and government-aided colleges under 17 universities.
Students can apply for up to 25 courses in one or multiple colleges without paying any application fee.
