New Delhi: AI unicorn Krutrim, part of the Ola group, has introduced an upgraded artificial intelligence assistant called Kruti, expanding its consumer-facing technology beyond its earlier beta chatbot.
Designed to handle complex workflows with autonomy, Kruti marks a significant step in the evolution of agentic AI in India.
The new assistant is available to consumers and will soon be accessible to developers as well, allowing them to create and deploy their own AI agents on the platform. Built on Krutrim’s proprietary large language model (LLM) V2 and integrated with open-source models, Kruti provides a scalable and cost-effective performance layer for both everyday users and enterprise applications.
Kruti is equipped to perform a wide range of tasks, including cab bookings, food orders, bill payments and content generation, like image creation and research summaries.
The assistant supports voice and text inputs, understands user intent, and can recall previous interactions. With support for over 11 Indian languages, it is tailored for local accents and communication patterns, making it a user-friendly option in a linguistically diverse market.
The AI assistant also adapts over time, learning user preferences and delivering increasingly personalised recommendations. As it evolves, Krutrim plans to begin with Ola-specific use cases, focusing on seamless integration within the group’s ecosystem before expanding access to third parties.
Kruti’s multimodal capabilities allow it to handle text, audio and visual tasks, positioning it as a next-generation solution for personal and business productivity.
It also includes a developer-focused SDK that simplifies integration into third-party platforms by managing LLM orchestration, memory and tool execution with minimal code.
The launch of Kruti aligns with broader industry trends, where companies are exploring agentic AI solutions capable of managing complex tasks autonomously.
Earlier this year, Deloitte launched its Agentic AI Centre of Excellence for the Asia Pacific region, including hubs in India, to drive innovation in this space.
Krutrim, which has already secured a Rs 2,000 crore investment, aims to scale operations with a Rs 10,000 crore commitment by next year, underscoring the company’s ambition to lead India’s push into practical, agent-driven AI applications.
