Kohima: The Nagaland government has transferred FOCUS project assets to different state departments to support sustainable farming.
The Fostering Climate Resilient Upland Farming Systems in the Northeast (FOCUS) underwent a six-year implementation phase.
With the signing of a Memorandum of Association (MoA), the FOCUS assets are formally transferred to the key departments of Nagaland.
These departments include Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Fisheries & Aquatic Resources and Cooperation.
With the assets now under the care of the line departments, it is up to them to maintain momentum and continue serving the farming communities.
The departments should fully utilise the assets, scale up their use and integrate lessons learned into future agricultural and livelihood projects.
The resource persons and knowledge partners developed during the six-year project should be leveraged for ongoing and upcoming initiatives.
