Tiruchirappalli: SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Tiruchirappalli, has entered a strategic partnership with Dassault Systèmes to integrate digital design and engineering tools into its academic and research programs. The collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), focuses on equipping students and faculty with applied skills in digital engineering and supporting early-stage innovation.
Applied Learning and Skill Development
As part of the agreement, Dassault Systèmes will provide access to its 3DEXPERIENCE platform, a suite of collaborative digital tools used in industrial design and product development. The platform will be integrated into SRMIST’s academic and training modules to build competencies in digital modeling, simulation, and data-driven problem solving.
The initiative aims to align engineering education with current industry practices, preparing students to address real-world challenges using modern design and manufacturing tools.
Boost to Startup and Research Ecosystem
In addition to academic integration, the partnership will extend support to student- and faculty-led startups through mentorship, access to software infrastructure, and incubation support. The focus will be on projects that contribute to India’s local design and manufacturing ecosystem.
Research and development (R&D) activities will be encouraged in areas relevant to indigenous technology development. This aligns with broader national objectives to strengthen self-reliance in critical engineering sectors.
