Bhopal: In a significant step toward sustainable development and environmental conservation, the Madhya Pradesh government has signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) for river conservation and rural development.
MoU for River Conservation with Narmada Samagra
The first MoU was signed between the MP Jan Abhiyan Parishad and the Bhopal-based organisation Narmada Samagra. The agreement aims to raise awareness about river conservation, with a particular focus on the Narmada River and its tributaries.Â
The partnership will promote community engagement and encourage citizens to take active roles in preserving river ecosystems. The initiative includes mindset change, ecological restoration, and strategic planning for a clean and uninterrupted river system.
This MoU supports the creation and execution of a comprehensive conservation roadmap for Maa Narmada, involving multiple stakeholders to restore the river’s purity, continuous flow, and biodiversity.
MoU for Anand Gram and Sustainable Development
The second MoU is a tripartite agreement between Rajya Anand Sansthan (Bhopal), Deendayal Shodh Sansthan (Chitrakoot), and MP Jan Abhiyan Parishad (Bhopal). It focuses on developing Anand Grams—model villages aimed at enhancing rural happiness and well-being—through collaborative training, planning, and implementation based on sustainable development principles.
The collaboration seeks to empower rural communities through voluntary participation, collective ownership, and innovative village development practices. It marks a push towards a more holistic, people-driven model for rural transformation in Madhya Pradesh.
