Gujarat: Optoma has initiated local manufacturing of its first “Made-in-India” interactive flat panel displays (IFPDs) at its Gujarat facility, targeting the growing demand for digital learning tools in India’s education sector. The launch of the Creative Touch 33 Series underscores the company’s focus on expanding its presence in classrooms with AI-enabled solutions while aligning with the government’s Make-in-India initiative.
The new range of IFPDs is designed for interactive teaching and learning, offering 65-inch, 75-inch, and 86-inch options with 4K UHD resolution, Android 14, and 8-core processors. Features include handwriting recognition, digital sticky notes, and advanced writing technology intended to replicate a pen-on-paper experience, aimed at supporting activities such as brainstorming, quizzes, and assignments. With Google EDLA certification, educators can directly access Google applications and download curriculum-based tools from the Play Store, reflecting the increasing reliance on digital platforms in Indian classrooms.
Optoma has also introduced centralized management through its Optoma Management Suite (OMS) Cloud, enabling IT administrators to remotely monitor devices, schedule content, and ensure operational efficiency across multiple classrooms. Additional elements such as built-in 40W speakers, extensive connectivity, and eye-care features, including low blue light filters and flicker-free technology, address both functionality and user comfort. Complementing this, the Optoma Solution Suite (OSS) InfoBoard allows schools to share announcements and assignments digitally.
Industry observers note that Optoma’s move reflects a broader trend of global edtech players expanding local manufacturing to cater to India’s rising demand for cost-effective, AI-integrated classroom technology.
