Indore: SPML Infra Limited has bagged a Rs 10.73 billion contract from the Indore Municipal Corporation to upgrade the city’s water supply system under the AMRUT 2.0 programme.
The project also includes a 10-year operation and maintenance (O&M) component. The initiative aims to strengthen Indore’s water infrastructure and provide reliable access to safe drinking water for more than 2 million residents.
Key features of the project include a 1,650 MLD intake system with a raw water pumping station and the construction of a 400 MLD water treatment plant equipped with advanced technology to meet strict quality standards. In addition, the plan involves clear water booster pumping stations, mains, and 22 km of transmission pipelines ranging from 1,200 mm to 2,337 mm in diameter.
To support the operations, an integrated 132/33 kV electric substation will also be developed.
The EPC portion of the project is targeted for completion within 30 months, including monsoon periods. The 10-year O&M contract, with structured escalation provisions, is designed to ensure sustainable and efficient performance of the system.
